It was my first time in New York in the past 7 years and I just had to make the most out of my 3-day trip. First stop? Times Square of course. Second stop. FOOD. My brother, who lives in NY (yay for free accommodation), told me about the Brooklyn Flea Food Market, Smorgasburg, and I got dressed and ready to go in 0.13 seconds. The weather that Saturday was far from the summer sunshine I expected. Instead, the clouds above threatened to open wide and release the burden of rain. But that didn’t stop anyone because the place was packed. Rain or shine, we were ready for food.

BBQ Squid – Yeah, I’m not that adventurous yet.

Raindrop cake

Wowfulls – Hong Kong Egg waffles & Ice Cream. The line for this was super long.

Slow cooked short rib with bone marrow, spring onion & black pepper

So juicy and tender. Can we say yum?

Teriyaki Balls – Stuffed with potato, shrimp or sausage

Who was a happy girl after all that food?
Food festivals are my favorite. I’m back in Toronto now but I’m already looking forward to the next time I visit New York.
